- Summary
For a small hotel, B&B or hostel, the closest Little Hotelier alternatives are Cloudbeds (all-in-one, priced by quote) and Beds24 (pay per unit, very configurable), with Mews for larger hotels with a team. If your property is mostly apartments or holiday homes, look at Lodgify, Smoobu or Hostaway. All six publish an API, which Little Hotelier does not offer for your own reservations. Before you switch, export your history: Little Hotelier masks guest details 180 days after check-out.
Every price and feature below was checked on the vendors' own sites on 3 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you sign.
Is Little Hotelier part of SiteMinder, and who is it for?
Yes. Little Hotelier is SiteMinder's software for small properties: its website is published by SiteMinder Limited, and SiteMinder's developer guide lists it among "SiteMinder's own products". Its channel manager is SiteMinder's.
According to its pricing page, Little Hotelier specialises "in software for properties with 1-30 rooms". As of October 2026:
- Basics: channel manager, booking engine, calendar and mobile app, with a 1% booking fee on top of the monthly price (their example: $1,000 of bookings in a month adds $10).
- Pro: everything in Basics plus competitor rate and rate parity insights, phone support and an onboarding specialist.
- Add-ons: Payments, Hotel Metasearch, Channels Plus, Dynamic Revenue Plus, Guest Engagement and Website Builder.
- Price: "from" a monthly amount that depends on your rooms and location; the page shows it once you enter your room count. There is a 30-day free trial.
What do Little Hotelier users like and complain about?
On Capterra, Little Hotelier scores 4.1 out of 5 from 236 reviews (October 2026). Owners like having channel manager, calendar and booking engine in one place. The recurring complaints:
- the mobile app does less than the web app
- "the reports and syncing to accounting software can be improved"
- invoicing problems and some confirmation-email glitches
- support delays
Two structural limits matter if you plan to grow your tools around it:
- No API key for your reservations or guests. SiteMinder's APIs are for certified partners; properties can only generate a Direct Booking API key for rates and availability (full answer).
- Exports are manual, and guest details are masked 180 days after check-out (how to export in time).

MCP for AI assistants: none of the six mentioned an MCP server for property data in their developer docs on 3 October 2026. Cloudbeds runs an MCP server for its developer documentation, which helps people build integrations. Among other PMSs, Apaleo launched one in September 2025.
Which alternative fits your property?
Cloudbeds
The most direct swap for a hotel or hostel. Cloudbeds says it charges no added commission on its booking engine or channel manager, includes multi-property, payments, reporting and 24/7 support in every plan, and connects with "400+ integration partners via API". Pricing is by quote, so you cannot compare on paper without a call.
Mews
Built for hotels that run more than rooms: restaurant, bookable services, a front-desk team. Mews is priced per room (the figures it shows are for a 10-room property) and offers an open API with 1,000+ marketplace integrations. For a 6-room B&B it is likely more system than you need.
Beds24
The budget, do-it-yourself option. Beds24 charges from €15.50 a month based on your units, plus €0.55 a month per channel connection, with no contract and no booking commissions. It is very flexible, which also means more setup work.
Lodgify, Smoobu and Hostaway
These three are built for holiday rentals. They fit if your property is apartments or houses rather than hotel rooms.
- Lodgify: strong on direct-booking websites. Plans from Basic to Ultimate, a 0% booking fee and a 7-day free trial.
- Smoobu: simple and per unit, from €28 a month for one unit and from €9.60 per extra unit, with a 14-day free trial. Its Flex plan swaps the prepaid fee for a 0.9% booking fee.
- Hostaway: aimed at rental managers. The pricing form starts at 2–14 listings and ends in a quote.
When Little Hotelier is still the right choice
Switching costs time: rebuilding rates, remapping every channel, retraining staff. Little Hotelier is still a sound choice when:
- you have up to 30 rooms and want one supplier for PMS, channel manager and booking engine
- you rely on SiteMinder's channel manager and add-ons such as Demand Plus or Hotel Metasearch
- you need compliance features it already has, such as automated guest reporting with Guest Engagement (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Colombia) or VeriFactu in Spain
- your complaints are about missing extras (reports, invoices, checks, AI), not about the core calendar and channel sync
What you lose when you switch
- Guest history. Guest details are masked 180 days after check-out, and the channel manager search only reaches 548 days back. Export reservations and guest lists first.
- Phone numbers. The reservations CSV leaves them out "for security reasons", so a bulk export won't carry them over.
- Invoices. Download every PDF you must keep. The newer platform's Reports → Operational → Invoices can download them as a ZIP; there is also a guide to downloading all invoices at once.
- Set-up work. Room types, rate plans, restrictions and channel mappings have to be rebuilt, and each OTA reconnected on a cut-over date.

How to add what's missing instead of switching
Many gaps can be closed without moving your bookings:
- The App Store. Check-in, messaging, upselling and revenue apps connect to your existing account. See the best Little Hotelier integrations.
- Settings you may not use yet. A property minimum rate, gap-night rate plans, the housekeeping report and passkeys are all built in. See Little Hotelier tips and hidden features.
- Free userscripts. Prices in the calendar, Booking.com commissions in the reservation and wider tables, free forever, from the browser scripts page.
- An add-on dashboard. Hotelier Tools, which we make, adds bulk invoicing, automated checks before arrival and an API for your own data on top of Little Hotelier. It is independent (not affiliated with or endorsed by SiteMinder or Little Hotelier), connects with your own Little Hotelier login, and is free for every hotel until billing starts on 10 January 2027.
Summary
- Hotel or hostel outgrowing Little Hotelier: get quotes from Cloudbeds and, if you have staff and F&B, Mews.
- Tight budget and time to configure: Beds24.
- Apartments or holiday homes: Lodgify, Smoobu or Hostaway.
- Happy with the core but missing extras: stay, and add apps, scripts or an API layer.
- Whatever you choose, export your data now, before guest details are masked.
Frequently asked questions
Is Little Hotelier part of SiteMinder?
Yes. Little Hotelier is SiteMinder's product for small properties, and its channel manager is SiteMinder's. Little Hotelier's website is published by SiteMinder Limited, and SiteMinder's developer guide calls Little Hotelier one of its own products.
How much does Little Hotelier cost in 2026?
As of October 2026 there are two plans, Basics and Pro, priced per month according to your number of rooms and location, with a 30-day free trial. Basics adds a 1% booking fee on the value of your bookings. The pricing page shows the exact figure once you enter your room count.
Little Hotelier or Cloudbeds: which is better for a small hotel?
Both suit independent hotels and B&Bs. Little Hotelier publishes its plans and targets 1 to 30 rooms; Cloudbeds quotes each property and publishes an API with 400+ integration partners. If you need your own integrations or a hostel-heavy setup, Cloudbeds is worth a demo; if you want simple, SiteMinder-backed distribution, Little Hotelier is fine.
What do I lose if I leave Little Hotelier?
Mainly history. Guest details are masked 180 days after check-out and older reservations drop out of the channel manager search after 548 days, so export reservations, guest lists and invoice PDFs before you switch. Rate plans and channel mappings have to be rebuilt in the new system.
Which alternatives have an MCP server for AI assistants?
None of the six in this comparison mentioned an MCP server for property data in their developer docs when we checked on 3 October 2026. Cloudbeds offers an MCP server for its developer documentation, and Apaleo launched an MCP server in 2025.
